Variations on a theme

Photographic montages are valuable when designing a shoot, in other words, the compositions, colours, forms, textures and lighting are considered while a body of work is being collected. As you can see on these two pages when images work together they montage effectively and the overall presentation can be dramatic.

I was very taken with the ritual of "walking (or riding) the Strand" in Townsville, an event practised by the locals at sunrise and sunset.

What fascinated me was the variety in shape and mode of locomotion: there were people strolling, power-walking, jogging, riding bikes; there were people with partners, parents and prams, dogs leading their owners [Townsville Strand, Q, sunrise. 135/20 mm, f5.6, mini tripod and remote release.]
