Colour is the single most appealing feature of any nature image, and the full colour spectrum can be found in the natural world. Very dramatic colours, like Kata Tjuta, or soft muted tones appeal to me. Sometimes, an even more dramatic effect is achieved when a coloured object is only a small part of a largely soft pastel or even black image. These approaches command attention and have the power to quite dramatically affect human emotion.
