Hi Vicky.. they look like really nice parrots & I think you should mess about with Apperture settings to get good Depth of Field with that great Tamron Macro.. 90mmm? lens...

Are those Greencheeks Splits by the way??

Nice pics.. Cheers Marty..

Dont listen to him. Dont touch the aperture. The shallow depth of field is spot on in these. They are sharp as a tack. :D

Just a thing on macro. I use my tripod for most of the flower shots I take. When you are up so close every little movement is magnified with a macro lens. I read a good article today on Macro photography in this months addition of Australian Photography. Its got me rethinking my approach.
John

Marty is right though, experiment with aperture. :roll:I love that first shot. Thats a great lens you have there. :D

do you know how much playing with aperture scares me lol !!!!
then again 12 months ago turning my SLR on scared me to so ill get there when i become brave :)
yes im very impressed with the lens thanks to Annabelle:)

you know i went to the rose gardens the one that the truckie yelled at me the other week and i wanted to use a tripod but im not over the idea of looking like an idiot carrying my tripod i wish i could just use it and say who cares what people think but sometimes the stares and remarks make me a bit embarrassed so i try not to draw attention to myself silly huh? :D

I missed these ones. These are great, Vicki. If you keep taking photos like this I might want my lens back. (lol)
I love the second one. Maybe a touch more space in front of his head would be better, otherwise, perfect. Aperture is just right. Don't worry, once you've experimented a bit more you will gain confidence. We've all been there. Just take your time.:D

Great macro really requires the use of a tripod. As for what other people think:clicky.

Enjoy the Tamron 90, it's a great lens. I am in the process of upgrading to a dedicated macro lens at present which means more flower shots for sure.

Nearly all my macro are taken with a Pentax 100 macro 2.8. I wouldnt part with it for the world. Its a heavy lens and requires a tripod in low light. I also use my 80-200 f2.8. I have read that the Tamron is a great lens for portraits. From what I have seen you are proving them correct.POTW soon. :)
