What a complete surprise, this just made my day! 8) I had actually forgotten all about entering (even though I did it on Sunday night ) It's really an honour to be picked alongside Keith and Stan! Keith, ever since you posted that shot I was awestruck, it's just such an inspiring picture and Stan that's a really unique shot you have captured.

Thankyou all for your encouragement and words, I do appreciate them alot.

Thanks Em!
Sarge

It is a pleasure to be runner up in this competition as the standard is very high. Well done Sarge and Keith. Sarge I have only seen this bird at a distance and only once - well done. Keith I love the ethereal effect of this shot. It would not have looked out of place in the Lord of the Rings.

WTG, Tim. A really great shot of the Grebe. They can be hard to get close to. Congrats on your POTW. Also congrats to Keith and Peter for their runnerup awards. :D

Congratulations to Leabrigette69 for this beautifully captured shot of light through a stained glass window. Please tell us more about this shot Leabrigette69!

We had a lot of entries this week and it was really difficult choosing just two runners up today!

Congratulations to Ann van Breeman (annabelle) for her shot "Hairy Legs". This guy has such character and is so sharp! Took this one in our garden today in between heavy showers and windy gusts. This jumping spider was a bit bigger than some I've seen, about 3/4 inch long, and seemed quite happy to pose, but kept all his beady eyes firmly fixed on me. [Canon EOS 500D, Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro lens, tripod, Sigma ring flash. F8, 1/25, ISO 800.]

Sharon Wormleaton (sharon) for her shot of ... a sunset in Albany, Western Australia. It was one of the most colourful sunsets I've ever witnessed and the Albany Windfarm and Albany Port were barely visible through the eerie yellow glow. [Nikon D70s, Nikon 55-200mm lens.]

Image

Sharon might need to post her shot elsewhere as this size doesn't really do it justice.

Em

Three incredible - and incredibly diverse - photos this week!

Lea - what a wonderfully spiritual photograph of the old church window! The lighting is superb - where was it taken?

Clarity plus for the spider, Ann... and Sharon - what an incredible sunset!! I've never seen one so consistently gold!

I can see why the judging was late coming this week, Em!!

Love
Maz.

WTG Lea. A beautiful shot of the church window. Also congrats to Sharon for her sunset. I haven't seen one like that for quite a while, especially here in the Windy City.:)

Thanks to Em for choosing my "cute" little bloke as a runner up. I only just got it in in time last night. I had about 15 minutes to spare. I started work on the days work after dinner but kept getting distracted. Not like me at all. Much!!!

thank you for choosing my picture this week amongst all the brilliant shots that were in .. and congrats also to Ann and Sharon

This is actually a window in an old artist colony here in Melbourne.. it was taken last year in the dining hall ..as the afternoon sun was filtering through the window..
It was a pretty eery place to wander through and some parts of the estate, my 2yr old just didn't want a bar of ...

Thanks again
:D

Hey Polly... that's because the winner's pic is on the home page... not in the forum.

Wow Lea... what is the name of that place? I'd like to google it and find out the history... I mean, if a two year old doesn't want a bar of parts of it that, to me, smacks of spirit presence... it's something children are WAY MORE SENSITIVE to than us "educated" adults! COOL!

Love
Maz.
